Why You Should Attend
All interactive and video professionals in Central Texas are under pressure to provide high definition video without lengthening the production timeline for creative work. This pressure, in turn, is increasing the need for rapid and widespread use of the latest camera equipment and tapeless workflow. Congress mandated the conversion to all-digital television broadcasting, also known as the digital television (DTV) transition, because all-digital broadcasting will free up frequencies for public safety communications (such as police, fire, and emergency rescue). Videographers, production studios and creative agencies must now leverage new processes and increase the quality of all video productions, commercials, online video and other broadcast recordings.

What You’ll Learn
TM Television will feature an in depth discussion of Sony’s innovative PMW-EX1 compact HD camcorder. The PMW-EX1 is a powerful solution to the industry’s driven need for affordable HD. If you’re new to HD, the EX1 is a great way to get your feet wet. With HD formats, including 1080i, 1080p and 720p, the EX1 is adaptable to an extensive variety of applications from broadcast to streaming. The PMW-EX1 features HDSDI output for live production scenarios.

Sparksight will demonstrate how to successfully move to a tapeless video production workflow. The session will include examples of how Sparksight and other media professionals have modified their production cycles to produce high definition video. Finally, the session will cover storage/backup strategies and methods to deliver high definition broadcasts over the Internet.

About PMW-EX1 Compact HD Camcorder
The Sony EX1 also employs tapeless media capture, using Sony’s SxS Pro memory cards, to function seamlessly in an IT friendly environment allowing storage and management of media assets in a true digital realm. Two 16GB SxS Pro memory cards can record up to 140 minutes of HD footage making it a competitive alternative to tape based formats. For additional flexibility, the SxS Pro format will fit into a standard ExpressCard slot.
